This program admits for a Fall semester start. 

Application due date: Applications open for rolling admissions on July 18, 2026 and continue through a deadline of January 15, 2027. Slots for the entering class of 2027 will fill first-come, first-served.

In addition to the University’s admission requirements:

• The application MUST be completed and "verified" by the deadline for the application to be fully reviewed.
• Baccalaureate degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from all colleges attended
• Minimum grade of "B" or better in each prerequisite course
• Official transcripts from all institutions attended
• Two letters of recommendation; These can be uploaded to the electronic application. Letters must be dated within two years of applying. The two letters must include one academic, and one professional recommendation.  The professional letter can, but does not need to be, from an occupational therapy practitioner.
• Documented observation hours with an occupational therapy practitioner are highly encouraged, though not required. Please note: Faculty review of your application will include consideration of your exposure to and knowledge of the occupational therapy profession, through a variety of in-person and virtual experiences. These may include the documented observation hours, but can also include enrollment in an Introduction to Occupational Therapy course, volunteer experiences, work experiences, and personal experiences. 
• Current professional résumé/CV.
• Personal statement
• A document with a link to a 5-minute (or shorter) public access video of you answering the following questions.

1. Please elaborate on 1-2 areas you mentioned in your personal statement that make you a strong candidate for our program.
2. How do you feel that you, as a future occupational therapy practitioner, can create a culture of wellness? Please provide one concrete example.
3. MSOT Program-Specific Question: In our OT program we are interested in preparing well-rounded candidates. Please share two attributes that make someone a great occupational therapy clinician?

• Official TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score reports (International Students Only)

Prerequisite Coursework

Each prerequisite course must be completed with a grade of B or better. At the time of application, prospective students may have up to three prerequisite courses outstanding/in progress and, if accepted, need to be completed by August 15. However, due to the competitive applicant pool, the Admissions Committee strongly encourages the completion of all prerequisite courses prior to application. Students may complete the required prerequisite at any accredited institution. If you intend to complete these prerequisites at Kean University, you may apply to the University as an undergraduate second-degree, non-matriculated student. You may also contact ot@kean.edu with specific questions about prerequisites coursework.
